Today was quite eventful....
First I had my Chinese written final. It was intense. Most of it was vocabulary and switching characters from traditional to simplified and vice-versa, and that was really challenging because some of the traditional characters look nothing like their simplified counterparts. We also had to write a summary of a story that was given. Overall, the final was ok. I left about 10-20 questions blank, so hopefully that won't affect my grade too much.
German class was pretty much the highlight of my day. It's the beginning of the period, and I'm sitting in my desk spacing out since nothing really isn't going on, and I don't talk much to the others in the class. Suddenly, I hear my teacher call out my name in this announcer voice he does, and he walks toward me with this big thing in a Target bag. He then starts talking, in German, and says something like "Someone made a cake for you. I'm not supposed to say who. There's also a note in here. I didn't read it." there was way more after that, but I started thinking to myself "Who would send me a whole cake?" I read the note (which I think I left in the band hall, so I'll scan it tomorrow). It basically said that since it's exactly a month until my birthday and they don't know my address, they made me a cake. The note was typed, so I still had no clue who sent it. I look at the cake, and it has my name in icing written on it. I could tell immediately by the handwriting who sent it. It was Crystal. When class was over, people were asking me about the cake. I was telling them that I had no clue. What's also interesting was what I missed the German teacher saying about the cake. They said that, apparently, the cake was only for me and my family. I didn't really obey that request. During lunch, I went in the band hall, took the cake out of my band locker (I stuck it in there when I got to 3rd period) and cut up the cake in a bunch of pieces and started giving it out to people in the band hall. Crystal was there the whole time too, so I can only imagine what was going through her mind. Crystal also gave me a note in response to the last few notes I've been sending her. I would type it out, but it's kinda late, and I need to write a response. Don't worry though, I'll do all of that tomorrow.
Oh, because of the cake incident, I came out to Tom. I was explaining the whole cake thing and one thing led to another. He doesn't care about it, and I trust him a lot, so it's all good.
My cake cut up with awesome left-handed skills.
